CLIMBING THE SNOWY ILLIMANI
COMMON ROUTE (6.470 m. above sea level)
From May to September 

DIFFICULTY: 50º-60º

CLIMBING TIME: 9Hrs.

FIRST DAY: LA PAZ – UNA – PUENTE ROTO We will leave La Paz by private transportation 4WD (3 hrs.), up to the small village of UNA (3.600 m. above sea level). This is the departure point with the carriers and mules. After 3 hours walk we will reach the base camp (PUENTE ROTO) located at 4.500 m. above sea level. Camping.

SECON DAY: PUENTE ROTO - HIGH CAMP (NIDO DE CÓNDORES) From this base camp we will begin a slow and difficult walk, ascending through Morrenas. After a 5 hrs. walk we will arrive to the high camp “NIDO DE CÓNODRES" (5.500 m. above sea level), from here we will have an extraordinary panoramic view of La Paz and the places around us. Camping

THIRD DAY: NIDO DE CONDORES - SUMMIT – PUENTE ROTO Very early we will begin our climb along two technical passages of 50º and 60º. After 9 hours of slow and difficult climb we'll arrive to the summit of the South pick (main summit of the snowy ILLIMANI). After a few minutes in the summit, we will begin the descent to the base camp of PUENTE ROTO (9 hrs.). Camping

FOURTH DAY: PUENTE ROTO – LA PAZ We will return walking (2 hrs.) down to the village of UNA, from there we will continue by 4WD until La Paz (4 hrs.).

This INCLUDES: mountain guide, assistant guide (if more than 4 people), cook, complete meal, private transportation (with insurance), carrier mules for baggage, porters, optional technical climbing equipment (mountain shoes, crampons, ice axe, rope, carabiners), camping and cooking equipment.

NOT INCLUDED: sleeping bag, Backpack OPTIONAL personal insurance available. (ask for more info)

THE PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING: Anorak, mountain trousers, thermal underwear, personal first aid kit, trekking shoes, sun block, mountain glasses, torch, water bottle, mountain sleeping bag, extra personal back pack, mountain gloves, woolen bonnet and the technical climbing equipment is optional (mountain shoes, crampons, harness, ice axe, rope, carabiners)
